Paul Weaver is an award winning video game Director and Producer who has been involved in making games since 1995. He has worked on everything from Donkey Kong to Disney Epic Mickey and is currently the Product Owner of the Rosetta Stone Kids initiative, bringing high quality game-based learning and fun to children.

Paul and his wife Nicola met in 1994 and found out very quickly that they had something in common: a deep love of mountain gorillas. After twenty years of saving and planning, they were finally able to spend five unforgettable days in Rwanda, and as it turns out, their special memories weren’t all about the gorillas!

Traveling with a group organized by the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, they visited Bisate Public School in Rwanda’s Musanze district. Nestled at the base of the mountains that the gorillas themselves live on, it was a truly unforgettable moment in our lives.

After Paul and Nicola pulled up in their tour car, they were immediately surrounded by dozens of very enthusiastic and happy children. Their guide told them to show the children the soccer ball that they had brought all the way from America with them; the roar of absolute joy and elation from the kids was almost indescribable.

Upon returning home, they wanted to do more for these wonderful children and while browsing through the hundreds of pictures that were taken, the idea came to them to create a photo book of their adventures and start a campaign to raise money for the school.

After months of planning and hard work creating the book, Paul and Nicola ran the Indiegogo campaign, successfully raising over $5,000 for the children’s school in just thirty days. The proceeds from the campaign have been used to build a basketball court from scratch; we hope you enjoy the many pictures and updates of this story!

"Absolutely breath taking and beautiful; the words are so hard for me to describe the beauty of this place.

I look at this picture and I just cry and pray for the ones that are gone but not forgotten.

God blesses us all, Amen"
